" COIN AND NOTE PACK."
CONTAINS OFFICIAL NEW ZEALAND CURRENCY !
A few words from the Pack:
"This pack contains a collection of official New Zealand currency featuring old, existing and new coins.
When introduced in 1967, New Zealand's one and two cent pieces represented a small but useful store of value. However, the purchasing power of these small bronze coins was steadily whittled away, until by 1987 they were of little more than nuisance value.
The last date struck was in 1988 with the entire issue being placed in collector's sets..
The newly circulating one and two dollar coins first appeared in 1990 and are struck in an aluminium bronze alloy. The last coins with a similar face value to circulate widely in New Zealand were the gold half and full sovereigns, prior to the outbreak of World War I.
Inflation has finally taken its toll of New Zealand's most widely used paper denominations. The fore-runners of these notes were first issued in 1966 (ten shillings) and 1840 (one pound).
A special aspect of these notes contained here is that the last four digits of each note are matching. They feature the 'Brash' signature and are presented in crisp uncirculated condition.
