COMIC STRIP STAMPS

Marten Toonder, born in 1912, decided at an early age to become a cartoonist.

His many admirers in the Netherlands and abroad feel his stories about Tom Poes and Mr Olivier B. Bommel have enriched the Dutch language and literature.

Mr Toonder has lived in Ireland since 1965. On 21 October 1995 he was made an honorary member of the Dutch 'Our Language Society'.
