They are part of the withdrawn Icelandic Kronur banknotes series. The Central Bank of Iceland started issuing these 25 Icelandic Króna banknotes in 1961. They were withdrawn from circulation in 1981.
The banknote of 25 Icelandic Krónur has the text ‘Tuttugu Og Fimm Krónur’, meaning ‘twenty five kronur’. On the front side of this 1961-dated banknote is a portrait of Magnús Stephensen, Icelandic author. The back side shows fishing boats near Westmen Islands
