Tokens, Hukumchand Mills Ltd, (19th Cen. AD), 5 Paisa, White Metal-Alloy Unit, 'Tea' Token, Obv: Inscription 'HM Ltd, Indore, & 'CUP' Design in Centre, Rev: Denomination '5' (Paisa), 4.20 Gms, 23.71 x 15.84 mm, Extremely Fine, Very Rare Unlisted Variety.  Note - The token was probably used in the company canteen sometime between the 1930’s and 1950’s. Hukumchand Mills was a large cotton mill that went bankrupt and closed down in 1991, owing wages and benefits to some 6000 workers. Since then the mill has been torn down. Attempts have been made to sell the land to provide funds to pay the workers, however disputes between various government agencies has prevented the sale of the land. After 25 years, the workers have still not been paid and the case drags on in court.
