The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey issued Turkish Old Lira banknotes in 15 different denominations, including this 50000 Turkish Old Lira banknote (7th emission group 1970). They are part of the obsolete Old Turkish Lira banknotes series. The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey started issuing these 50000 Turkish Old Lira banknotes in 1989. They were withdrawn from circulation in 1998.

The banknote of 50000 Elli Bin Türk Lirasi has the portrait of Turkish founding father Atatürk on the front side. The building on the back side is the National Parliament House in Ankara. Years of inflation in Turkey have wiped away most of the value of this banknote.
