- Comments -- Revolution Square (Plaza de la Revolución - formerly named Civic Square), with over 70,000 square meters is one of the biggest on the world, dominated by Marti Memorial, with a tower 109m high, and a statue 18 meters high, was started during Fulgencio Batista regime, and completed on 1959, same year when the Castro Revolution succeeded. Surrounded by important buildings, like National Library and several Ministry headquarters, they show an impressive sight. Opposed to Marti Memorial can be seen the buildings of Interior and Communications, with the steel images of Ernesto "Che" Guevara and Camilo Cienfuegos, and their quotes "Hasta la Victoria, siempre" (Towards Victory, always), and "Vas bien, Fidel" (You´re doing fine, Fidel)
